The uP8802Q is a 3A ultra low dropout linear regulatorspecifically designed for motherboard, notebook and graphiccard applications. This device works with dual supplies, acontrol input for the control circuitry and a power input aslow as 1.2V for providing current to output. The uP8802Qdelivers high-current and ultra-low-drop output voltage aslow as 0.8V for applications where VOUT is very close toVIN.

The uP8802Q features comprehensive control andprotection functions: a power on reset (POR) circuit formonitoring both control and power inputs for properoperation; an EN input for enabling or disabling the device,a power OK with time delay for indicating the output voltagestatus, a current limit function, and a thermal shutdownfunction.

The uP8802Q is available in PSOP - 8L package with verylow thermal resistance
