The AS1330 is gear tooth sensor IC for use inautomotive camshaft sensing. AS1330 is used with a bias magnetic south facingthe back (no mark) side of the IC. The technology used for the IC ishall-effect based. The chip incorporate hall-effect plate, an A/D converterwith self-calibrates the internal gain of the device to adjust the air-gapvariations. And digital sample and hold circuit, Schmitt trigger and the opendrain output with short circuit protected.
As the gear tooth rotate, the chip samples an inincreasing or decreasing flux density. When the flux has reached its minimumvalue and increased hysteresis flux, the output will turn on (BOP). When theflux has reached its maximum value and decreased hysteresis flux, the outputwill turn off (BRP). The AS1330 uses a single Hallplate which is immune to rotary alignment problems. The bias magnet can be detectedfrom 1000GS to 4000Gs.
The AS1330 is ideal for use in gather speed, position anddirection detection to those gear-tooth based configurations. AS1330 Particularlysuited to those applications that require accurate duty cycle or accurate edge detection,such as automotive camshaft sensing.
The AS1330 is a sophisticated IC featuring an on-chip12-bit A/D Converter and logic that acts as a digital sample and hold circuit.A separate 6-bit D/A converter provides a fixed hysteresis. The AS1330 does nothave a chopper delay.
The device is available in SIP-3L Package and is rated over the -40°C to 150°C. The package is RoHScompliant. ?
