The StrataXGS? Trident4-X11C series is a family of Ethernet switches designed to address performance, capacity, and security requirements for next-generation enterprise core network switches. Broadcom’s Trident4-X11C is the industry’s first core-scale switch ASIC able to precisely identify individual connections that fit a defined threat profile in traffic mixes from tens of thousands of users. In addition, the number of virtual ports has been increased to enable the design of high-density chassis switches with hundreds of downlinks. The ground-breaking Trident4-X11C will catalyze the development of enterprise core switches capable of playing a central role in the detection and mitigation of malicious attacks. The Trident4-X11C architecture delivers complete, user-programmable forwarding and instrumentation capabilities at a very high port density, while maintaining minimum power, latency and board footprint.To enable high network utilization, Trident4-X11C features a wide variety of load balancing and congestion management technologies including Dynamic Load Balancing, Dynamic Group Multi-pathing, Resilient Hashing, Latency-Based ECN marking, and Elephant Flow detection/re-prioritization.Trident4-X11C is programmed using the NPL high-level language.
