Microchip’s latest solutionoffers superior signal-to-noise capability to address the requirements of thicklens and thick glove support;?supporting multiple thick gloved touchesand?operation when fingers or surfaces are wet or moist, whilst preventing thewater from being detected as a false touch event. This technology also enablesadaptive touch utilizing self-capacitance and mutual-capacitance measurementsso all touches are recognized and false touch detections are avoided.

Microchip’snew signal shaping technology is lowering emissions significantly and ensuresthat large touchscreen solutions based on the ATMXT2113TD-Ameet the CISPR-25 Level 5 requirements for electromagnetic interference inAutomobiles.

The controllers also incorporate a new self and sensor diagnosticfunction, which constantly monitors the integrity of the touch system. The new ATMXT2113TD-A device brings these smart diagnostic features insupport of the Automotive Safety Integrity Level as specified in ISO26262.
